Welcome to the Davis Enology & Viticulture Organization!

On behalf of all DEVOtees... Welcome to UC Davis' Viticulture & Enology program!

DEVO is a student led non-profit that works in tandem with the Department of Viticulture & Enology at UC Davis.  If you're interested in getting involved with the many viticultural, enological, and food science related activities at UC Davis, we encourage you to attend one of our upcoming meetings and/or functions. Contact devopresident@ucdavis to be added to our mailing list! If you're new to the program, feel free to contact one of our officers; we're happy to show you around.

DEVO was created to promote contact between students, the wine industry, and the community. Each quarter we plan & arrange affordable Immersion trips to different AVAs in California each quarter, and international destinations each summer. Additionally, we award scholarships for international internships for outstanding students to work harvests in wine regions throughout the world. We have a weekly tasting club for 21+ members, VITIS, aimed at making wine education more accessible through guest-led explorations of varietals, regions, and styles. DEVO also offers a 1-unit winemaking seminar course in spring quarter (VEN190X) that is moderated by DEVO officers where winemakers and industry members share advice and stories, and students can ask questions and mingle at the BBQ after class. We make all of this happen by raising money through the ever-popular Winkler Dinner, a six-course dinner paired with donated alumni wines, with a live and silent auction taking place throughout the night. This year, the 24th annual dinner will be held on May 24th, 2025. Tickets will go on sale March 24th on the Winkler Dinner website
