Welcome to the Davis Enology & Viticulture Organization!

Hello DEVO-tees,

Welcome to the UC Davis Viticulture & Enology program!

DEVO is a student led non-profit that works in tandem with the Department of Viticulture & Enology at UC Davis.  If you're interested in getting involved with the many viticultural, enological, and food science related activities at UC Davis, we encourage you to attend one of our upcoming meetings and/or functions! If you're new to the program, feel free to contact one of our officers; we're happy to show you around. You can stay up to date by following us on social media and by joining our discord and email list, which can all be done by clicking the links above.

DEVO was created to promote contact between students, the wine industry, and the community. Every quarter, we plan immersion trips that include visits to different California AVAs and during the summer, we set off to an international destination to learn more about their wines as well as their culture. Additionally, we award scholarships for international internships for outstanding students so that they may work harvests in wine regions across the globe. We have a weekly tasting club for DEVO members over 21 called VITIS, which is aimed at making wine education more accessible through guest-led explorations of varietals, regions, and styles. DEVO also offers a 1-unit winemaking seminar course during spring quarter called VEN190X that is moderated by DEVO officers, where winemakers and industry members share advice and stories, and students can ask questions and mingle at the BBQ after class. We make all of this happen by raising money through our ever-popular Winkler Dinner, a six-course dinner paired with donated alumni wines, with a live and silent auction taking place throughout the night. This year, the 25th annual dinner will be held on May 9th, 2026. Tickets will go on sale about 2 months out on the Winkler Dinner website
