DEVO (Davis Enology and Viticulture Organization) operates as a student-led nonprofit in partnership with the UC Davis Department of Viticulture & Enology. Activities span viticulture, enology, and food science, with a focus on hands-on learning, industry connection, and community engagement.

What DEVO does
- Quarterly immersion trips to California AVAs for field learning and regional exploration.
- Annual summer international travel to study wines, culture, and production abroad.
- Scholarship support for international internships and harvest work in global wine regions.
- VITIS: a weekly tasting club for student members aged 21 and over, featuring guest-led explorations of varietals, regions, and styles.
- VEN 190X: a spring 1‑unit winemaking seminar moderated by officers, featuring industry speakers sharing advice and stories.
- Post-class BBQ events to encourage networking and informal conversation.
Getting involved

The Winkler Dinner
An annual tradition celebrating viticulture and enology scholarship, hospitality, and community. The Winkler Dinner brings together students, faculty, alumni, and industry partners for an evening of food, wine, and conversation.
About the event
Seasonal ingredients sourced from nearby farms. Thoughtful pairings that highlight our region and UC Davis. Proceeds directed toward student scholarships and DEVO activities for students.
